1.Consultation Fee: The fee for consulting with attorneys before hiring them.
2.Retainer Fee: The fee for hiring attorneys. Non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the case.
3.Success Fee: The fee required at the end of the case depending on the outcome.
4.Expenses: Necessary miscellaneous costs (transportation, postage).
5.Billable Hours/Per Diem: If an attorney has to be out of the office for more than half a day (four hours), including transportation time, for a court appearance or an out-of-the-office-interview with concerned parties, there will be an hourly or daily fee (in addition to the fees above).

Consultation Fee

First-time consultation	Free for the first 30 minutes 3,000 yen (including tax) for every 15 minutes from thereon
Second-time and beyond	3,000 - per 15 minutes

Note: as a general rule, we ask clients to visit our firm for consultations. However, if visiting our firm is not possible because of medical reasons, and a client lives in an area accessible by day-trip, we may be able to conduct consultation trips for a fee (10,000 - 20,000 yen, plus transportation). We also offer Skype/Zoom and Email consultations for those who live overseas or in remote areas.
We do not charge a Consultation Fee if we are hired on the same day.
